My clutch will slip at 18 degrees. Yes, I rode to work once when it was that cold...it would start to slip when I got on it at 60.
18 is my personal record, 8 miles one way to work, it wasn't THAT unpleasant.

Well, I went. 58 degrees when I left, degrading slowly as I went. I encountered ice fog, 50-100 foot visibility, and sand on the road (which is worse, sand or black ice?) Down to 38 degrees by the Allegheny River in Franklin Pa.
I did get to Cook Forest eventually, and had planned on going up in the 1929 fire tower. Nature and the Pa. State park system had other plans...The park was "closed for the season. Still it was a nice (sorta) 200 mile ride up into the mini mountains, and an adventure fo'sho'.

It's 1.5 miles back to the tower via the gravel road.
