The 510 SMR Husqvarna seems to be running better. I've gone two days in a row without stalling the thing. This bike is nearly full-race tune with little flywheel so I keep blipping the throttle when stopped.
More news- the low fuel light goes on @ 1.5 gallons. The tank holds 1.9. I've been getting 50 mpg so I should have 20 miles after the light. Unless the pump pickup is high.
The net says the fuel pump is known to slip causing the bike to run out sooner. The fix is to remove the pump & tie wrap it.

Also- I have to do something about the stupid kick stand. Deployed, the foot is almost inline with the wheels. It won't stand up on anything softer than concrete. The damn thing fell over and broke the end off the clutch lever!
Anyway, the bike is my daily driver now so I'll sort out the kinks.

Fuel wise, I just filled it with marine gas (no ethanol) 90 octane so I'll let you know if I can feel any difference. I'm guessing 90 @ 100% real gas should be as good as 93 octane, 10% corn squeezin's.

Not me, although I hang out there sometimes throwing beer bottles from the balcony.

The handling on the Husky seemed a bit odd. Wanted to turn in by itself on tight corners, resisted hard sit-on-top, dirt style leaning.
Front tire had 8 P.S.I...............
It was fine a few months ago!

Joe you have tire gnomes stealing air... tough buggers to deal with I tell you. It's like getting rid of a closet monster only like ten times worse.

That, or maybe it was the people who were the balcony beer bottle targets.

Hmmm,, I've been Husky-free for just about 40 years now.. After checking out your bike, I see no reason to hit the Husky bottle again..
Plus my Zuk gets about 1.9 gal before I switch to reserve and I get 60+ mpg. I ended up with a California Model, so the tank holds less than the book claimed. Took me awhile to figure out that one.
Your short sidestand killed it for me, I already had that problem with my R1200GS.
But ducktaping a 2 by 4 block to the bottom of my stand was easier than leaving a brick everywhere I might stop.

It's not just that the sidestand is short, the thing has no stance. All three contact points are nearly inline.
I like the power though. The bike rips.

Been tinkering with the Husky. The mid-pipe comes real close to the plastic air box. I fitted a bit of insulation from a late model Jeep exhaust to help.

This is the Jeep part the insulation came from. I have no idea what it does on the Jeep.

Finally got around to changing the oil. The manual calls for 10-60 which might as well be kryptonite around here. I used 20-50 and it better get used to it.
The Husky has a lot of filters. Besides the regular big-single paper one like every other bike has there's 3! mesh screens.
two screens overlap in one holder.
