Oh Well,,She's been gone a long time.. I had hope that she would overcome the drugs and make it back, but I think she just fell too far..

i dunno doyle. she has a new movie coming out and its been said she was coming back pretty strong. i guess we will find that out this spring.  all i know  her superbowl performance back in 1991 blew me away and i have been more than a fan ever since.
some of her performances just sucked the soul right out of me. i cant explain it. it really kind of freaky. there was just something about her. the power of her voice mixed with a vulnerability  of presence  that totally capitivated everything male about me. i wouldnt have minded being a real life kevin kostner.

oh well. this is what happens. maybe epitimizes whats the best....and the worst about america. but my philosphy is people arent perfect so most of us go along pretty much with our highs and lows  averaging out within "normal" parameters. some one with the super talent of WH has to balance that against personal super weaknesses.

when etta james died that sucked too, but she was older and didnt effect me like whitney whom i remember being almost kid. i cant help but think that if that was my fatboy whitney was sitting on, maybe she would be alive today.

so Frukkk bobby brown  and frukk all those jealous black gospel preachers and the like whom turned their back on whitney  for becoming a "white mans pop star". they will be all out praising her now like they did with jacko. same klowns whom tore her apart.

Yep, too many enablers and not enough hard @sses in her life.

It is hard to say no to someone you love.

But it is sometimes better than seeing them in the coffin......

steve, we really dont know exactly what happened to her yet. or rather why it happened. "pill bottles" found could have been anything. my guess is persciption crap and she fell asleep in the tub and drowned. by all accounts she was functioning pretty well these days  and her new movie she just completed should attest to the fact she wasnt totaly a non functioner lately.

what i dont understand is why she didnt have some sort of personal assistant near at hand. you are right about enablers. some are intentional blood suckers and some just cant say no. but certainly clive davis could.

watching the grammys tonite was a bit sad for me. Hudson did what she could as a tribute but one could see how hard it was for her to get thru it. to her credit she did and thankfully it was a short rendition.

i will say Taylor Swifts tune tonite was fantastic  and put some optimistic joy in my heart. i think she got the most enthusiatic ovation. everyone needed the lift up she provided. what a great kid she is. i hope she understands where she is at and doesnt veer into BS.
wishing her a long and successful career and life.

Seems like a garden variety drug overdose.

She has been a addict for a long, long time.

A shame, for sure.

...and right now Dolly Parton is trying to figure out what song they're going to play at her funeral.

I liked Whitney Houston best when she sang The Star Spangled Banner at a Big event. Can't remember if it was the start of an Olympics or a Superbowl, but she nailed it.

I have never heard it better by anyone and with the lighting she looked like an Angel Singing it. I knew at that moment I was watching a once in a lifetime event.

She hasn't been that Whitney for many years, but I am glad she was here to Brighten My life, that Day.

Thanks Whitney..
