McBrides Yamaha in St. Joseph MO graciously allowed these pictures to be scanned.

The McBride brothers said the bike was running a big bore kit, carillo rods, smoothbores (remember those!) and a "few" other things.

With fairing:

Boonevillea 800

and without -

Boonevilleb 800

1958 - 2010

"Jim was a motorcycle enthusiast in which he raced motorcycles his entire life. One of his passions was restoring and racing vintage bikes. His love of speed and the Bonneville Salt Flats earned him a motorcycle land speed record which he held for several years."

Really nice guy, Godspeed Jim.

I wonder how it handled bare.  I like the look. You could do-up your new bike UJM!

You could do a story on this guy, justify a trip to beautiful Saint Joseph Missouri!

Yes, it was in the 180's - without the fairing!

Rumor is it may be coming up for sale, any serious buyers out there?

I'm very afraid that I am going to buy it......

You need this bike.  Off topic- I've been reading about high mileages being racked up on Honda XXs.  Seem to be a great engine.  Future 170 MPH classic?
