Thank you, one of the best issues of any modern magazine in a long, long time.
You guys and gals did a great job, I really enjoyed the vintage stuff.
Two thumbs up!
Steve

Ok, able to spend even more time with the issue, it's not a one time read, this is one that will become tattered.
When I first saw the cover, well, there was a Harley and that usually works for me in the same manner a lullaby does.
Lower left corner, what's that - "Special Vintage Section / Roots Where we Came from" caught my eye.
75 Honda CR125, 73 Guzzy V7 Sport, 75 Yamaha RD350, 68 Honda CB350 - looking up!
Upper right hand corner, that Buell 1125RR, more snoozmeds for me.....
Right off the bat the Yoshimura advertisement caught my eye, those case savers and GSXR swingarm pivots sure look tasty, sportbikes are not my thing mainly because I do not fit on them, but hey, they still dig deep in my soul and they always will.
Moving on, the Harley road test was better than expected.
Suzuki's TU250X perked my ears as my daughter just passed the MSF course at 15 and a half and I thought she might be interested in it (too boyish she said).
Johnny Pag FX-3, a 300cc naked twin, did nothing for me - until that was the one that perked my daughters ears up, wow, OK, open that mind Steve.....
Honda CRF250R - Holy sheep dip, fuel injection and one of those machines that kids men moto-rections - what was that rev limit again, jeeeeez! :wings:
Honda SH150i already left a bad taste in my mouth thanks to geeky styling and the immediate questioning of anything "made in China" even if it has a Honda logo on it - I rode one, whatever, I'm not overly impressed, mainly because I can not stand the styling, sorry.
Finally, the special section, and it rocked - not only were the cover machines covered (hehehe) but one of my all time favorites - the Kawasaki 750 H2! And a Honda CL175, it was awesome and I hope to see that become a monthly section, those are my roots, not Harley's, not British this or that, those are my roots.
Then, the cherry on the top of the icing, the article on Cycle Warehouse - holy sheep dip again, were these guys reading my want list at that other magazines web site? Stuff on cool distributors, oh yeah, this is the best issue of any motorcycle magazine I have read in a long, long time.
Could it be - a magazine that actually listens, to the generation I came from?
I'm not holding my breath, one issue does not change the world -
Or did it......
.

i just got the new issue tonight and have only read a little bit of it. i love the article on the tu250 and would love to see more on this bike. japan has a healthy aftermarket for it and the tu looks ready, willing, and able to become a great project bike. have you seen the other 2 configurations? type a http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/prototype-spy-concept/SuzukiST250a.jpg type b http://cdn.autos.goo.ne.jp/protoucar/usedbike/850/8500164/G1/640/8500164B3009091100100.jpg
and here are some tu250/st250/volty links i have found
http://www.chicdesign.co.jp/products.../st250_cl.html http://www.suzukicycles.org/ST-series/ST250.shtml http://www.tk-kijima.co.jp/custom_st250.htm https://www.mjbike.com/ubike/sch_details_id-563069.html http://www.wmpdt.co.jp/suzuki/st250.html http://www.chicdesign.co.jp/products...250_other.html http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...12&postcount=9 http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycles/suzuki-tu250/
i think hellforleather has a tu projuct in the plans, but i'd be willing to bet ari or alan could do some great things to this bike

I was stunned to recieve two editions of Cycle World in the mail, I had not renewed my subscription for a variety of reasons, but found out my wife went ahead and for $8.00 got me another year.
$8.00 - that does not even seem like enough to cover postage for a year, amazing.
Cycle World had seemed to moved away from where my interests were, and they did not seem to care what "the readers" wanted, more about themselves and the advertisers.
Cycle World seemed to of lost track with the mainstream or grass roots segment of the sport, unless there is a radical change, I'll be sure it does not get renewed again.
Back on track, what I found so ironic about the timing of this was that the two editions I recieved were the last of the old and the first of the new - Dave Edwards "lastest greatest" edition, which will always be viewed as his last, at least by me.
And that it came at a time when Motorcyclist revealed that it is far more tuned into what I and many, many other readers want in a magazine, well, if Motorcyclist plays their cards right, the future never, ever looked brighter for them.
