i fairly new to the motorcycling community so here we go

im geting ready to go pick up my new yamaha warrior and its far enough that i dont want to ride it back in such a short time so im forced to either open trailer or rent the u-haul special enclosed for about 100 one way.  now to my question obviously enclosed is better but not as cost effective maybee?  so when open trailering how do you protect your bike from the elements and still eliminate things like rock chips, road grime, sandblasting, tarp flap, cover rub.

what do you recomend and what experiences do you have

finally vote enclosed or open?

I tie 'em down in the open-no cover.  Covers flap/chafe.
The crap hitting your warrior is no worse than when you ride it.
