I've owned many, many bikes and have put a ton of miles on each. Excluding the Bonneville each machine built by most manufactures are as fine tuned as Swiss watches. All of them are a ton of fun to ride but a tad too perfect.

Enter the Triumph Bonneville, an imperfect bike in a world of perfect bikes. It is in its own quirky way a perfect machine. Like a typewriter in a world plugged into the internet. It cannot be compared to a Ducati, Harley Roadster or any other machine. The rider will not be instantly gratified but with time will be rewarded.

It truly is in a class by itself.

I've been interested in the Bonneville for some time and I would like to see a comparison between it's competition like Guzzi, Harley 883 & 1200 and a Ducati Sport. I'm ready for something less than the latest hyper-rocket whizbang, yet I need to assure myself I won't bore myself in a few months after laying out some sizeable cash.

The Triumph or retro- looking Duck SS thingy would be my pick of your list.
I must be feeling the moment more as nothing bores me. It's OK to back off a
notch and just enjoy the ride.
If you get the Triumph fit some scrambler pipes-way cool.
