Rake & Trail

I am in the process of modifying a 2001 Suzuki 1200 Bandit by swapping the front end of a 2001 GSXR 750.  I have measured the tripleclamps and the Gixxer has a 32MM offset while the Bandit has a 30MM offset.  This is going to decrease my trail. However the rake angle on the Gixxer is 24 degrees while the Bandit is 25.3 degrees.  I think that even though I am losing trail on my Bandit from my stock setup, it should still be less aggressive than a stock GSXR 750 given that my rake will be 25.3 degrees.
The question I want to pose is: With the increase in offset from 30MM to 32MM cause the need to install a steering damper?  Or will there be any instability problems with the loss of trail?
TIA.

Toying with steering geometry is tricky business. It sounds like you'll have a slightly more lively handling Bandit, but not an out-of-control twitch monster. You can always add a steering damper later.
