Try www.MotorcycleUSA.com or MotoUSA Magazine. I think you'll enjoy both...

Sorry to gripe some more, but there needs to be a bit more editing done in this magazine.  I point to page 40 where we learn that Sam Hornish Jr. tells us how his CBR1000F "reminds [him] of driving the Penske Racing #77 Mobil 1 Dodge."  I understand that NASCAR drivers are contractually obligated to mention their owner, their car's number, and their car's make in every interview, but that does not mean that a magazine has to publish the comment.

I know that this is not a huge point, but a good job of editing can make a good read a great read.

By the way, I really enjoyed Mr. Black's comment about his not needing a thesaurus, and explaining that he does not need a big, sticky marital aid, either.  Not only is his vocabulary prodigious, but, evidently, his wife is a lucky woman.  If only Liesl had known . . .

running exactly 50/50 for/against.

Lewis has done a great of job seperating readers into two camps: Those who get his humor and style and thoroughly enjoy what he adds to an already great mag and the other camp, which is filled with those who suck.

It would impossible to exaggerate the sheer power of the indicator that Lewis has provided. The results should read 50/50 don't suck/suck.  Motorcyclist should begin working on this immmediately.  This stat points to the fact that too many of your readers suck.
It is not smart business to have that many customers who at any moment could bail on the mag for a new subscription to Potted Plant Monthly or Knitting With Grandma Quarterly.

Jack Lewis is the man.

Jack,

That article where she winked at you while you were being carried out?  That was one of the best articles I have ever read in a magazine, motorcycle or otherwise.  Somewhere Asa Baber is looking down on you with smile on his face and a gleem in his eye. You do good work.  There has been one alarming consequence of your labors however.  Who would have thunk that there were so many ignorant chicken f%$kers reading Motorcyclist magazine?  Let me be clear: You don't like Jack Lewis' writing?  Then you suck!
Rock on with your bad self.

I like Motorcyclist, but I wish there was less Ducati coverage.

ZXFINGZ,

Good trolling.

I'm guessing you belong to the camp that sucks?

Sorry to disappoint you, Mr. "Powerzombie," but if I were inclined to cower behind a pseudonym, I wouldn't write under my byline.

My name's "Jack."  What's yours?

Jack, my name is Joe, no need to call me "Mr.".

I guess you've never heard of sarcasm?

I realize it doesn't always come across via the written word, something you may want to look into...along with a thicker skin.

BTW- nothing cowering about it....have you looked around the web? About 50% of the people use a psuedonym....about the same percentage of folks who find your writing readable.

I'm Wes Baca.  And as far as Jack Lewis' writing is concerned, I get it.  I like it too.  What I don’t “get” is why people are ready to cancel subscriptions based on one guy’s writing.  Do you expect to like everything in a magazine?  If I expected that, I would complain about stupid scooter articles.  But I don’t because I realize that there are all kinds of people out there.  Or, different strokes for different folks, as it were.

And by the way, you don’t like Jack, you purdy much suck.

What I don't get is when somebody says "If you don't like Jack, you suck." or "You are a chicken *** We don't all have to agree, or do we?

Finally, I "get his writing", I just think it pales in comparison to the writers he's trying to emulate.

"If you don't like Jack you suck" is such an obvious joke that I didn't think it needed explaining.
