We are on the verge of having a major issue here in NYC:

From the 12/10 Daily News:

http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/12/10/2008-12-10_bikers_wont_like_sound_of_this.html

City council info:

http://www.nyccouncil.info/html/legislation/legislation_details.cfm?ID=Int%200416-2006&TYPE=all&YEAR=2006&SPONSORS=YES&REPORTS=YES&HISTORY=YES

Rather than doing their jobs with the laws already in place to combat noise they plan to make it illegal to have even a PARKED, NON-RUNNING motorcycle with an aftermarket exhaust or even a stock exhaust without some sort of EPA sticker and are threatening confiscation of personal property, without any review.
