I must thank Aaron Frank for his article in regards to BOTY winner, the KTM Duke 990. Winning MOTY is a prestigious honor, to be sure. If any of you people out there question weather Sir Duke is worth $14k I must ask: have you ridden one yet? My guess is no. For if you had, you'd be plundering you childrens college funds, raiding the "rainy day" jar, buying lottery tickets and maybe even selling off a kidney! O.K., some may wonder whats so great about it? well, here are a few things to chew on. It has a great, fun to twist engine, a transmission that feels like it was polished, DLC coated, then soaked in silicon! SMOOOOOTH!!! The suspension (WP) it WSB quality, the brakes (Brembo Radial 4 piston) are akin to hitting a brick wall, progressively, its SUPER comfortable, flicks like a booger, and weigs around 430 lbs. Yeah, a GSXR/R1/ZX10/CBR1K might weigh less, but this thing feels like the engine was removed!!! An added bonus is there aint' gonna be too many others at the local bike night, and it's got the balls to back it up! Try one & see the light!!

We have a KTM dealer nearby. But this is not a large metro area so the big KTMs never make it here, just the smaller minis and dirt only models and an occaisonal 450 might make a showing. They only go to the larger ppulatin centers. So the rediculous prices that KTM charges for their bikes is not an issue here. Can't get one anyway.

I still think it's a bit overpriced. I could understand pricing in the S4R Monster region, but this ain't no MV Agusta! For the money, I'll take the Brutale over this any day!
