Seeing Red

Jim Millers article on running red lights is right on the money.
Red light runners in Florida have gotten out of hand. Any day of the week I can see drivers that just can't wait for a light. Some will stop then blatently take off through the red.
When the light on my side goes green I treat it like a stop sign. Look both ways before crossing.
Sure we have high fines for red light runners ($201.00) but that doesn't seem to deter them.

One day as I sat at a light the long string of left turning vehicles coming at me didn't stop when their light truned red. I slowly inched forward intermittently blowing my horn hoping they'd stop. Nope, they kept right on coming. One vehicle had a little gray haired lady in the passengers seat. As she drove past I blew the horn once again and that little old lady promptly gave me the finger while shouting obscenities at me.
And people wonder why I'm all for the red light cameras.
