10/6/08 Chicago Metro NW - Looking for the second issue of MC Retro without any luck. The Border's I bought the 1st issue at doesn't have it and can't tell me if or when they might. Calls to Barnes and Noble (5 calls in total)netted the same results - "HUH?"
How can we get the new mag if even the major bookstores can't get it?
How about a "Subscribe Now" link for MCRetro like MC has?

Hello? Is this thing on?
Is anyone at MC Retro planning to chime-in and let all of us "would-be" subscribers know what is being done to make it available?
I can't believe it wouldn't be "Job 1" to make the new mag available to the public. What is such a problem about making it possible to subscribe online? - it's right here for Motorcyclist.
Come on - help us out here, it shouldn't be that hard for us to buy it!

FINALLY - SUCCESS!
So, I finally decided to give Retro a call to find out what the deal is with getting my hands on the latest issue. I wanted to talk to Boehm, and the lady that answered the phone gave me his number, but no answer and no voice mail...
So I called the mag back (323-782-2230) to check the number, which was correct. She ended-up doing a search with my zip code and gave me a list of stores that had Retro delivered.
Turns out I had been looking at bookstores, and the deliveries in my area were going mostly to a large chain supermarket. There were 2 copies on the shelf, so I'm lucky I guess.
Anyway, check your local supermarkets and convenience stores for a better shot at finding it.

Now the next question is, when and where will the 3rd issue and/or the subscription be available?

Seriously now....WTF is up with RETRO ??? Can't find it at the stores, cant find it on the internet, not even listed on Source Interlink Media's list of publications. I scowered every friggin magazine rack in Hawaii to get the first 2 issues but it's getting to be a bit much.
C'mon Dillholes....throw us a bone here. Quit acting like the OEM's.

This sounds like typical big publisher BS. They spent a bunch of money putting together the "Premier Issue", set a "Premium" cover price, and only printed a few thousand copies knowing they will totally sell out all while hoping to increase subscriptions to their current established "old and tired" magazine.
I noticed the Mag editor has not responded to anyone's questions in over 6 months... What gives? I hate to say it but it sounds like this wonderful magazine has been scrapped at our expense. I'm sure if this had been a start up mag like "dice", with a make it or brake us attitude, the corporates upstairs probably would have green lighted the project and taken a chance to go full production.
The truth is big publisher only care about big profits, bottom line. Initial interests and sales were probably too low to justify a third issue. They don't care about us as individuals, we are their niche market. 35-50 age group, mostly educated middle to upper middle income consumers with a care for "our" era of motorcycle. The 70's and 80's were our formidable years and if we couldn't have afforded a bike then, our income now allows it, and we want the bike of our dreams.
That's the reason this magazine even came to initial publication, unfortunately the initial response although good in our eyes, wasn't enough for Big publishing to really take a chance on us.
I can't seem to get any solid information on a subscription other than a DIGITAL copy. I simply don't like having digital books or magazines on my computer. Lets face it computers fail! I'm not sure what's all on my computer right now and if it were to crash, GOD forbid, I know I would never remember what I may have lost.
I like being able to hold a magazine in my hands and show it to my friends and pass them on as I get older. Hell I treat magazines better than I do books. Their the perfect reference guide for what was going on at that exact moment in time and their updated each month.
I really hope that I am simply jumping to conclusions here and the mag has been green lighted for subscriptions status. But I'm sure the editors are too busy to let us all down, thinking we'll just keep reading their other mags in the mean time.
Now I'm going to re-up my subscription to "Cycle World". later Travis

I found issue number 2 this morning at the Barnes and Noble store in Brookfield, WI. They had quite the stack of them.
