Hi all, I ride with a bunch of Harley people (I end up looking like a Power Ranger among them!)
I have a 2006 ZZR600, (a NEW - old style Ninja). I'm looking to increase the decibles on my exhaust. (not to compete with HD guys, just enough to get noticed when I'm riding alone) However, I dont want to sound like a P'd off bumble bee! I read somewhere that you can drill out the condensation hole on the underside of the can to get a louder sound.
Has anyone done this? What's it sound like? Can anyone recommend a can that would give me a more throaty sound... (the opposite of a bumble bee). That wont screw with my engine at the same time.
Thanks!

If you want performance for your bike , buy a proper full system and re-map approriately. It will probably give you a better sound as well. I like akrapovic system's If you want to convert horsepower to noise , buy a harley and be done with it. Why are you worried about looking like a power ranger, I presume you are wearing full leathers. Better to look like a power ranger then a burn victim

Thanks!
But Akrapovic doesn't make anything for my bike. (I actually checked)
I'm just looking to find out what kind of sound I will get if I drill out that hole slightly. It's a perm change, and if I dont like it, I'm stuck with it!
Has anyone drilled that hole out?
** Myrtle Beach Bike week is on the way! (May 9-18) Anyone going?

Not quite sure. I personally have not heard of anyone doing that. The next best thing I could think of is talking to the techs at your local dealer. They will be able to tell you if it's a good idea or if you are making a big mistake. Just make sure you will gain horsepower and not lose with this type of modification. Best of luck and please write to let us know what you came up with.
