My husband got a bike which, of course, means I need to learn to ride/drive. I've had trouble finding gear that looks nice but also has all the shoulder, elbow, spine protection I want. I ended up getting: The Lola helmet by HJC (we live in Florida and it's kinda got a tropical flair :-), Stella boots by Alpinestar and a nice leather jacket by Made2ride. But in a month or so I'm going to need something mesh for the heat and I'd like to find an open face helmet for trips along the ocean.
Any suggestions?

Not sure about auction sites, my husband has bought stuff from e-bay and had some luck but he has also had to ask for mediation through pay pal to have some of his money returned when the item was not as promised.
If you live near Tampa try RMT on Florida just north of Fletcher. I just got a new jacket for hot weather for $119 - it is made by Fieldsheer - they give 15% off the catalog price. Check out fieldsheer.com.
