Hello... I am Mike of 'Bad Cat Racing' The male passenger for the only Female F1 sidecar pilot in the United States, Sarah Finley. One of the most common questions we get at our events from people in the pits interested in our sport is, "Where do I even begin to look to get one of these if I want to come race with you?" And I have to admit that the process is a bit esoteric at best. You better have a man on the inside, or know a friend of a friend, or be ready to do some research.... It tends to be a bit off-putting.
As opposed to racing a regular motorcycle, where you can literally walk into any major dealership, buy a 600 off a showroom floor, do some basic prep work and safety wiring, and you're quite literally ready to enter a super stock class with a week worth of garage work tops.
If you've ever been interested in racing a modern Formula I sidecar capable of scratching at 180 down the straights, two G's of lateral force through the corners, and some of the most brutal acceleration next to a full blown Formula 1 car or Top Fuel dragster, this would be a prime chance.
Two F1 sidecars have come on the market, one owner is upgrading to a new chassis, and the other is retiring from racing. These are both excellent entry level rigs for getting into the sport inexpensively.

The Team Intellisense Baker long chassis just went up for sale. 6500 bucks OBO with a 2004 GSXR-1k engine.

The team Intellisense car is for sale. You all know it and have either owned it. Beaten it. or been beaten by it. Baker long chassis with 2004 gsxr 1000 engine. Nice Kawasaki zx-11 radiator runs nice and cool. Car just needs a few minor things but is track ready just the same. I also have most the parts needed to convert the clutch to a slipper. $6500 obo

These are the first two I'll put up. Like I said, these are excellent entry level rigs for someone looking to break into sidecar racing. Many people are suprised to learn that Formula 1 and Formula II sidecar racing still exists in the United States and has a good following.
The division we race with, SRA-West will be running our first four races of the season out at Willow Springs, we'll be out at Reno Fernley Raceway for AMA Super Cycle Weekend, and Road America for AMA Superbike in June, and the AHRMA Bonniville GP in Utah at Miller Motorsports in September.
