Looking for some feedback regarding the Scott Stainless Steel Oil filter. Is it worth the investment?

I don't know what kind of bike you have but it looks like most of these are in the $100 range. I can get a regular spin-on for about $6. I will say most people change their oil about twice a year for a cost of $12 in filters, unless they go to the dealer then they're spending waaaay more than what I have to give. In this case the Scott's filter would pay for itself in about 8 years, many don't keep their bike that long. I'm not sold that the $100 Stainless filter even filters as well as the $6 cheapie.
I like the idea of being able to reuse instead of throwing away the whole filter but I'm not sold on it. Maybe I'm completely off base and this thing is wonderful, it's just not for me.

Thanks Bis! I have a zzr1200 and you basically documented my first impression. Changing the oil and filter on this bike is very easy.
