Hello. I have an 01 Honda CBR and it is making a ticking noise when I hold the throttle at a given rpm. I had the valves adjusted (well....they told me that they did that) and it is still making that noise. Would it possibly be the cam chain being loose? Please help....What are your thoughts? Thank you.

Exactly WHERE is the noise coming from? Top, bottom, left, right, front, rear? Just a couple of guesses - Valve lash, exhaust leak either at the head or where the cannister connects to the header, intake boot leak, cam chain, (how many miles?)

Does this happen when the bike is first started? Does it go away after warm up? All bikes make this noise.....via cam chain. If it goes away I think your ok. My 05 cbr 600 does the same thing. My mechanic said it was nothing to worry about. Hope this helps.
