Looking to buy Honda Shadow!

Hi,

I live in the Pensacola, Florida region.  I am looking for a Honda Shadow to purchase.  I would prefer an 1100 ACE but I will consider an 1100 Spirit.  I am not interested in the 750cc at all.  Will only consider Shadow models dated 1998 and up.  Older bikes need not apply.  I have owned a Shadow before (got hit and nearly killed in 2003) so I know what I am looking for and what to look for in a good bike.  If you or anyone you know has a Honda Shadow for sale please contact me at sbtauto@juno.com or 850-232-7773.  I would love to see it.
Thanks.

Hi Steve,
I am also considering a used Honda 1100- What is your thinking about the 750 vs 1100? especially in relation to road trips? Also have you compared the Yamaha 1100's used? Appreciate your thoughts

Those old 1100 Honda's are great machines, very low maintenance costs as well.

Shaft drive, hydraulic valves (no valve adjustments, hug $$$ savings), possibly the lowest cost to maintain VTwin cruiser out there -

Be cautions of low mileage machines with a flat spot - it is not uncommon for those dual carbs to get gunked up and it is not inexpensive to have them  properly cleaned out - properly being the key word.

Also, aftermarket pipes just sound annoying in this model, the single crank pin versions are OK, the Sabre and Spirit versions sound, well, like crap.

The Yamaha 1100 is darn reliable and is also a proven machine. You could not go wrong with either of these two motorcycles.

My sister just moved up from a VStar 650 to the 1100, and she says the 1100 is easier to ride that the 650, go figure.

Now is the time to buy, check with dealers, as they may have some 1100's left on hand - it is a buyers market!
