I agree with basically everything you said here, but... I think we're talking about Dan Walsh and Motorcyclist. Not Peter Egan and Cycle World. A Walsh/Egan comparo is like doing a side-by-side review of a Ural M-72 and a BMWK1200S. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I really enjoy Dan Walsh's articles. They are a bit inconsistant, quality-wise, but I'm ok with that. He is a good addition to the magazine.

If you don't like Dan Walsh's work, then don't *** read it. It's perfectly easy...
I do however love his work, having followed his ramblings for many years (mostly in BIKE). He doesn't write about the human condition, like some introspective analyst. He is the human condition, in all its ugly realities. A welcome storm blowing right up the ass of the establishment, with a smile on his face and a slowly pickeling liver to keep him company.
One thing that really pisses me off about the US is the moral minority's continual obsession with trying to lead the country back into the dark ages. Wake up and take a look at where the rest of the world is going, and enjoy the freedoms that you still have left before they are finally eroded away.
