My 2002 Kawasaki ZRX1200R



As much as I have looked I haven't found a bike that does it all round better then a Green ZRX1200. Sure its not the lightest, its not even the fastest and it certainly isnt the latest repli-racer. But for all round goodness there is nothing out there that beats it.  Ive done track days on it , 1:45 lap time @ Mid-Ohio. Ive done 450 mile days on it , I commute on it ( 47mpg).  I go out to the garage and just stare at it . Simply the embodiment of what a motorcycle should be I love this bike, its also got the benefit of the best owners group on the internet the ZRXOA.org along with its sister organization in the UK ZRXOC.com. Long live the mighty Rex , my Green Meanie  

No doubt, the ZREX is among my favorite bikes ever. As much as I love my Ducs,my ZREX still never fails to light a fire in my happy places. I've had mine at the strip, taken 650-mile trips on it, and waxed it just so I could spend time w/it. It just looks, feels, sounds, and behaves like a proper motorcycle, but has the spirit of a really snotty punk kid. And used prices a just crazy low now --I've been thinking about buying another one, parking it, and breaking it out should anything untoward ever happen to my big,green, muscular baby. And, it's great fun eating some poser kid on a liter bike's lunch on my fat old guys' bike.  

Been around motorcycles since the 50s, and have never had as much fun on a bike since the Kawi 750 triples    The REX is a five hundred mile all day runner without tying this old man into a knot..
Real fun comes when you put the REX on hte track and experience the feedback. Never had a bike that made me so many friends..

I also own a Kawasaki Concours which has a Ninja 1000cc and is probably the better all around motorcycle, which does it all.Last production model made in 2006 since the 1980's.  

Yes the ZRX is a great do all, I had a '99 1100.  My favorite is my '92 TDM850 that I still own.  It's an early version of what become the adventure touring bikes.  My other passion is the Yamaha XS650 of which I have had many and still have a '82 based street tracker.  It's hard to say which is the best owner site is and I belong to a few good ones.  

I had a 2000 1100 and a 03 1200 and they are one of the few bikes that Ive owned that I regret selling. I now ride an 07 Bandit 1250 and in some ways its better than the Kawi and in some ways worse. Hopefully Kawi will be bringing the new FI version of the ZRX that is on sale in Japan to the US soon, but I doubt it.
