I know all the Italian bikes are on my list but the one Bike that first caught my eye and gave me that fuzzy feeling inside was
the Kawasaki Z1R. Man! I loved that thing.
My father had one before I got my license, and since I was a Dennis the Menace kid he never let me near it. He was smart.
Just before I turned sixteen he traded it in on a KZ13OO.
Till this day, over 30 years and 30 motorcycles later...
I still havnt driven one. My first motorcycle crush.
My Dad did let me ride the KZ1300... I burned the rear tire
off it. Used to ride it like a sportbike, hey I was in High School.
I owe him for that.

But if I could choose between a mint Z1R or an MV...
Thats easy.... Z1 baby!

Anybody else?

I had a RD400 Daytona Special,
That was sold to get the Roberts
Replica RZ350.That was sold to get the
first GSXR 750.

But what about the Yamaha RZV500R?
Anybody have one of those?

Its on my list after my wife throws me out.

I still can't forget the tingly feeling I got the first time I saw a Duc 851 in person---one of these days....

Maybe I'll just make due w/a 1098 instead!

Nice to see another 40 something guy whose pants went crazy when he  saw his first Kawaskai Z1. I was 15 y/o and saw my first one sitting outside the Foodway Grocery store that I would eventually work at. The kid that owned it was just a bit older than me and really had no business with a bike like that. It was the beautiful brown one with the gold/tan accents. Jeff used to light that thing up in the parking lot after work. The Z was a great response by Big K to the Honda 750. It really got some attention. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

My first experience was in Barcelona, in the "Ramblas" when I was 11 Y/o, and a french man was trying to get his Norton Comando (yellow in color)
down from its parking stand. The bike was so heavy with the luggage that the bike drag on the stand instead of coming down. I turned out and went to the nearest newspaper shop and bought LE AUTOMOVILLE, the only motorcycles mag they have at that moment. This time has chaged my whole life. Although I think that the fact of watching next morning part of the " 24 Horas de Montjuit" ( endurance 24 hours of Montjuit circuit)made the rest.

I don't remember seeing many bikes on the Ramblas, since my eyes were full of lovely girls walking past as I sipped my coffee. But I can say that the new VMax is THE bike I lusted after seeing it the first time. No other beauty has such an artistic approach to machinery as the new VMax has.

Ahhh, but the girls walking past the cafes......that's just another story all together.

The Italian girls in Rome are also mighty noteworthy....

Wow, at first I thought a DesmoRR would look sexy in the garage, but now... the Bimota DB7 Diavolo Rosso would look even better. May not even store it in the garage. Hope the girlfriend would be ok sleeping on the floor while that thing is laying next to me in the bed!
