If you're a midwesterner, or are passing through, make it a point to take Route 22 North along Lake Michigan's Grand Travers Bay, just outside of Travers City MI. It goes north and turns back south along Lake Michigan for hours and hours of solid riding. Curvy roads that are lightly traveled (avoid weekends) and lots of things to see and do; vinyards, orchards, sand dunes, lighthouses, likeside restaurants, bed and breakfasts, small country towns. Couple days is probably not enough to take it all in. I went up there twice this year, once to just ride and the other as a weekend getaway.
