In a ride that traveled throughout twelve states and saw speeds of up to 135 miles per hour, Queensryche singer Geoff Tate and guitarist Mike Stone rode over 2000 miles on their custom Buell Ulysses bikes for the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. The Rock and Ride Across America occurred at various locations during their current tour with thousands of fans joining Tate and Stone along the way. Those who donated to the cause got a chance to ride with the pack. After the performances in their hometown of Seattle, Queensryche auctioned off both custom Buell motorcycles to the highest bidders. Sure, they squashed a few bugs along the way but the donation was true "road kill" as the band and their fans raised over $80,000 for the Foundation. According to Geoff Tate, "Everyone in the band got their musical start from school music programs. If we hadn't had those opportunities, we wouldn't be where we are today. I felt really lucky to be involved in such a fun set of events for such a worthy cause." "We are so thankful to Queensryche for their support and generosity," said Paul Cothran, Executive Director, the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. "Their support will ensure that hundreds of public school students receive the benefits of music education." Queensryche will be on the road -- in support of Operation: Mindcrime II on Rhino Records -- until early December.

That is great that those guys would put in those kind of miles for charity. But could we maybe get them to ride around on bikes until early December rather than tour, cause their last good album was that AWESOME EP w/Queen of the Reich, Lady wore Black,etc.,. Since then they've put more to sleep. Sorry!

I have to disagree. Brian and I just saw them live last month and they rocked! They even had a rockin' duet with Dio.

Thank God they're briefs and not a g-string.
And Angie, you are WRONG! The cheesiest lyrics ever belong to another Seattle act, the three Wilson sisters known as heart (yeah, technically there are two Wilson sisters, but the dark-haired one must be pushin'3 bills these days). I quote:
"I am a flower, you are the sea We walked in the garden We planted a tree"
Makes Dio sound like Dylan, No?

Coming to the states in April? Omaha is LOVELY that time of year, ALMOST all of the snow will be melted, and the cattle are ready to mate!
