I'm weeks away from buying my dream bike, a 2007 Fatboy. Last evening I heard that the new bikes were having trannie problems and belts falling off especially when downshifting. Tell me it ain't so. Any info would be appreciated

Best wait it out, many times makers will release a .5 version... such as 2007.5 that fixes important things like this.

I just purchased a 2007 Fatboy a week ago and have 200 miles on it so far just riding around town. It's one of the smoothest bikes I've ever riden. It has GOBS of power, but again is very smooth on the power. The only reason a belt should ever snap during downshifting would be if you just downshift WAY too early and lock up the rear wheel. Although, the FAT tire is new for the Fatboy HD should have resolved issues by now with the 2006 Standard and Duece. I've also read about the front tire being offset. I've not noticed this, but if the front and rear tires aren't aligned then it will cause the bike to want to turn. Mine runs straight and true as it could be. Starting this week I will be putting 80-100 miles per day, five days a week. So if any problems are going to show themselves on the 07 Fatboy, it should do it with me. I will keep my progress updated on here.
