Hey all,

My son just turned 5 and I want to be able to take him on short local rides with me.  I saw advertised a couple of years ago a 'strap/belt' that connected the child passenger to the adult rider.

I lost that magazine that had the advertisement, but am now looking for it.  The only references I have found online are the patent paperwork that was filed on it.

Anyone know what it is that I am referring to?

I am looking to purchase now, but cannot find it. Even on the 2nd hand sites like Ebay.

Thanks a bunch!

If you read the October 2006 issue of Motorcyclist Magazine, you can find out how we did this during a photo shoot ... I wouldn't try it at home though!

Seems like it would be much safer if were not strapped to you... Maybe make them understand how important it is to tightly hold on?

I agree, it would be much safer if your child were NOT strapped to you.  In the unlikely event of an accident where you were knocked off the bike you would want him to roll free of you.
I think a 5-year-old should be capable of holding on tight enough, especially for the quick type rides you're talking about.
It's awesome he wants to ride with you.  Glad you didn't just shoot him down and that you're looking for safe ways to do it. I hope you two have a blast together.
