cool message boards are back! any word yet from u know who regarding you know whom? Hmmm...
Say, is it just me or did the name Alex Hearn suddenly appear at the top of the masthead? Is that the same AH who used to be Ed of a popular British bike magazine several moons ago? And if so, will we expect to see the magazine head in a more Performance Bikes direction? Not that it is anything less than Perfection in Ink as it is. Thank u.

Yes. Alex Hearn from T.W.O. magazine fame is the new Editorial Director for the Primedia Motorcycle Group. Performance bikes are always on our minds here

O he been slumming in Oztralia? Not performance bikes, I mean PERFORMANCE BIKES from England. Used to be my favorite bike mag but now i never see it as it is always poly-bagged at local Borders and costs like 8 bucks. Used to be some Lifelike Motojournalism going on there... maybe he will apply the lash at Motorcyclist?

Yup, that's the same Alex Hearn who worked at Performance Bikes before bailing to start TWO. He's been hired as Editorial Director of Primedia's Motorcycle Group, which includes not just Motorcyclist, Sport Rider and Super Street Bike, but also all the dirt and Harley titles.
He's definitely going to help steer Motorcyclist's editorial direction--and yes, there may be a British influence--but don't expect it to turn into TWO or PB overnight.

OK i will give it a month then. Time for him to regain feeling in his typing fingers as the marks from the shackles recede. I say he has paid his debt to society and should be allowed to redeem himself without any nasty stigma. Forgive and forget i say... who knew those kangaroos were underage?
When will u review the Husqavrna?
When will Everitt get around to hair care products as they relate to Moto? and will SNELL or DOT creme rinse carry the day? dammit i want answers man...

Not that TWO, the other TWO. The one in the UK, not Oztralia.

I dont know what direction Motorcyclist may be heading, but I buy Motorcyclist to read Motorcyclist.
What distinguishes it from the others is Boehm, Carrithers, Ford etc. I enjoyed Catterson at CW but they all fit the same mold over there. Boring, bland and monotonous. Edwards very rarely strays over the line into real creativity. Boehm took that risk.
I'll wait to see what happens, but if Hearn wants to shape this into another Performance Bikes.... than I'll opt to buy Performance Bikes. They at least have the semi-nudity.
BUT, that is not what I want.
The disgraceful advertising in the back of PB is why I currently leave it at the newstand. Its not fit to be left out for children to see.
Remember, its as much about the relationship with the writers we follow than the latest new bikes. Fancy cover shots do little to fill the void we used to fill with genuine substance.
Mr. Johnny B may be excited, but Im getting worried. The lack of attention to this website is also very sad. America's oldest motorcycle publication deserves better.
I haven't received my December issue, but I anxiously await the answers to my concerns.
